BFP-B Policy Advisory Committee (PAC)
The Policy Advisory Committee is overseeing the Policy Component’s activities, with an eye toward helping the component foster the development of an enabling environment conducive to increasing and deepening the outreach of financial services providers to MSEs in Bangladesh. Specific objectives of the PAC include the following:
- Promote effective coordination among financial service providers, regulatory agencies, donors and MSEs to increase collaboration and consensus on key policy reforms;
- Provide assistance to the GOB/BB in developing a financial inclusion strategy;
- Develop practical policy options to support financial service providers with a more effective legal and regulatory framework.
- Conduct research and disseminate results to policy makers, financial services providers, and others
The PAC is chaired by Secretary, Bank and Financial Institutions Division (BFID) of Ministry of Finance.
BFP-B Policy Working Committee (PWC)
The purpose of the Policy Working Committee (PWC) is to deal with the respective policy issues approved by the PAC and provide necessary advice to the BFP-B. The Working Committee is providing advice to the BFP-B on finalising the ToR to conduct evidence based research, providing Technical Assistance (TA) to the regulator e.g. BB, MRA relevant to the policy issues, policy advocacy and dissemination, and monitoring and implementation of the approved policy. PWC is chaired by Additional Secretary, Bank and Financial Institutions Division (BFID), Ministry of Finance. The other members of PWC include representatives from BB, MRA, a2i Programme, and DFID.
